Clapton Community Football Club were formed in January 2018 by supporters of Clapton FC who were frustrated by the mismanagement of the Essex Senior League club. The club are 100% fan owned.
The men's first team won the Middlesex County League Division One (Central & East) in the 2018/19 season playing at 'The Stray Dog' which is a pitch next to the main stadium at Wadham Lodge in Walthamstow.
Backed by a large, loyal and very noisy support CCFC have grown fast adding a successful women's team and men's development team over the past few seasons.
In the summer of 2020 CCFC purchased the freehold to The Old Spotted Dog ground in Forest Gate. Clapton FC, who had played at the historic ground since 1888, were evicted in 2018.
After a huge amount of work off the pitch for the 2023/24 season both the men's and women's first teams of Clapton Community Football Club will call The Old Spotted Dog home. It's amazing to see football continue to be played on one of the oldest grounds in London.
Clapton FC now play around two miles away at The Terrance MacMillan Stadium in Plaistow.
The 23/24 season will see the first Clapton Derby games take place as both CCFC and CFC are in the same Thurlow Nunn First Division South league which is Step Six of the the non-league ladder. The fixtures are bound to attract much attention from many football fans not just up and down the UK but around the world.

"In September 2019 CCFC were awarded the lease". This is incorrect, we started negotiating a lease at that point, but during the discussions the previous owner (Heineken) offered to sell and we bought the ground outright in July 2020. You are right though about the sense of aanticipation for the coming season though: "El Clapito" at the Old Spotted Dog Ground (none of us will attend the away game) should be a classic.
