TWO TOWNS SERVE UP A MONDAY NIGHT CRACKER

The Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division served up a Monday night match to remember yesterday as second from bottom Kentish Town and ninth placed Hatfield Town shared five goals at The Copthall Stadium in front of 34 people.

Two view's of the Copthall Stadium's main stand
The game included a very strong contender for goal of the season (2mins 30secs + on the video) - Kentish Town's second goal definitely crossed the line and bounced in out and off the inner stanchion as the replay shows. The overhead kick from the edge of the box by a Hatfield Town player just into the second half would of bettered this effort had it gone in!!

The programme states Kentish Town FC are 'the other Senior Football club from Camden and Islington'...If the second goal would of been scored by the Gunners it would of been written about, replayed and spoken about for years!!

The condition of the pitch didn't effect the game being a very entertaining encounter

Both teams played their part in a great game and I'm sure from the effort Hatfield put in they will feel gutted they didn't get anything from the game. Having said this full marks must go to Kentish Town for the win and a very welcome three points in their quest to finish outside of the bottom three to avoid possible relegation to Division One.

Match Highlights (including all five goals) are below...put your feet up for five minutes and enjoy -
