MATCH PLAYED ON MONDAY 28th NOVEMBER
There are some long journeys for teams in the Southern League Premier Central with Ilkeston and Basford United in the North along with Stourbridge, Bromsgrove Sporting, Alverchurch and Redditch United in the West. Kings Langley and Hitchin Town are the Southern most teams with Leiston and Needham Market in the East.
It was a lengthy trip for Redditch United who travelled from Worcestershire to Hertfordshire to play Hitchin Town. Its around 100 miles (and over 2 hours) to Top Field from The Trico Stadium so the loyal fans who made the trip to support The Reds on a Monday evening just 48 hours after playing Leiston (360 mile and approximately 6 hour round trip) need a huge mention - What I would call proper loyal support!!
After a dismal run The Canaries had hit some good form - Going into this game since winning 1-2 at Stratford Town on Tuesday 25th October they had won six of ten league and cup games.
The visitors had lost 2-1 at Leiston and a week prior been knocked out of the Isuzu FA Trophy by Vanarama South side Chelmsford City.
It was Hitchin Town who continued their good form with a 2-1 win in front of 276 people.
Jack Snelus and former Baldock Town centre-forward Ashley Hay were the scorers either side of Danny King scoring for the visitors.
Mark Burke's side won their next game at Basford United on Saturday 3rd December with their next game, weather permitting, away at Rushall Olympic scheduled for this Saturday.
