NARROW VICTORY FOR BUSH HILL RANGERS AT HERNS WAY

Bush Hill Rangers went into Tuesday evening's game with Welwyn Garden City u23s still in with an outside chance of winning the Hertfordshire Senior County League Premier Division title so a win was imperative for them. The home side made them work hard for the three points in a real battle of a match with tackles flying in from both sides.

The Citizens took an early lead via Timi Ajumobi who tapped the ball home after a goal mouth scramble and they took this into the half-time break despite being reduced to ten men for the end part of the first half when one of their players was sin binned.

Two goals in as many minutes from Jerrell Cato and Stanley Bodimeade made the scored 1-2 in the second half and it stayed that way despite Welwyn GC having a great chance to level the scored in the final moments when a close range header was put wide.

The second half also included a good old fashioned bench clearer tackle which saw two players booked - The game was a well contested one with handshakes at the end which was really good to see.

Ranger's title bid took a knock yesterday when they lost 2-3 at home to St Albans City Reserves. Table topper's Belstone also dropped points with a 1-1 draw at Chipperfield Corinthians with Cuffley's home game against Royston Town Reserves resulting in a home walkover - It's still all to play for in the race for the title!!
