Essex Alliance League Senior Division (Step 4)
DTFC 5 CHADWELL HEATH SPARTANS 2
This was a fantastic game which will live long in the memory - if only for the monsoon rain conditions in the second half. It was so wet even the fans under the stand got wet.
The Spartans had made a great start to their maiden Senior Division campaign having finished 4th in the curtailed Division One 20/21 season. Going into the game they had won five and drawn one league. DTFC were under the new management of former Ilford and Fisher FC manager Alan Fenn and lead 2-1 at half time going 3-1 up before the visitors pulled a goal back to make it 3-2. Two more goals from debutant Ollie Fortune who counts Biggleswade Town, Walthamstow and Bishops Stortford Swifts as former clubs.
DTFC haven't lost an Essex Alliance League since they joined the league in 2020.
