STOTFOLD v LONDON COLNEY
The visitors had recently parted company with Manager Stuart Crawford with Director Of Football Ken Charlery taking over assisted by Liburd Henry.
Charlery, the former Barnet and Peterborough United player, had previously been in charge of the club from 2017 to 2021. Henry is most well known for his spell with Gillingham between 1992 to 1994 and also represented for Maidstone United and Dover Athletic during his playing career.
Stotfold, under the management of Brett Donnelly, were Division One champions last season and are challenging towards the top of the Premier Division this season.
London Colney had only Ashton Henry, Ricardas Milasius and Pijus Montvydas left in their starting XI from their opening day victory over Cockfosters back in August.
They included striker Patrick Akwasi-Bronyan who has played for North Greenford United, Northwood and Haywards Heath Town previously. Winger Dujon Desagurante also featured who has played for Kentish Town, Wembley, AFC Hayes, Harefield United and North Greenford United along Midfielder Evaristo Kitoko who has played for Cockfosters, Barnstaple Town and Park View.
In front of a decent crowd of 177 people it was Stotfold who took an early lead via former MK Irish player Mason Spence and Charlie Briggs added a second on 16 minutes with a header. Briggs is a former London Colney player who recently joined Stotfold from Southern League Central Division side Berkhamsted.
Ricardas Milasius scored a great goal for the visitors just after half time, but it was Spence who made the result more comfortable only a few minutes later to make it 3-1.
