CLAPTON CFC INTO THE NEXT ROUND WITH VICTORY OVER MARGATE

It was a fantastic afternoon at The Stray Dog yesterday as Clapton CFC Women hosted Margate FC Ladies in the FA Women's Cup Preliminary Round in front of a noisy crowd of 310 people. Clapton took an early lead only for Margate to being the score back to 1-1 and then have chances to score again. The Ton's went in at the break 3-1 up - one of their goals was a free-kick from way outside the box by Ciara Monanhan. They were in control at 5-1 only for Margate to pull two goals back and playing some good football only for The Ton's to seal a memorable day with a sixth goal to send them through to Second Qualifying Round where they will play Oakwood (based in Crawley) at home on Sunday 22nd September. The club also issue an excellent programme so I can highly recommend a visit.

Can The Ton's break the 500 attendance mark in the next round?

EIGHT MINUTES OF HIGHLIGHTS
