LOCAL DERBY ACTION AT HERTINGFORDBURY PARK

The Moon followed The Cold End from Harlow Town on Wednesday night to Hertford on Thursday
It was local derby night on Thursday as Hertford Town took on their near neighbours St Margaretsbury in the Hertfordshire FA Charity Shield. The home side crept through to a Quarter Final home tie against the winners of the Colney Heath v Harpenden Town match which takes place next week. Mark Draper scored the all important goal in the first half which was delayed part of the way through due to the Assistant Referee picking up an injury. A 15 minute wait allowed a replacement to arrive and the game continued. The Cold End sends best wishes out to the Linesman who apparently injured his groin.

St Mags may have had a penalty given in the first half (see video 1 minute 35 seconds) where Pablo Ardiles appeared to handle in the box...Was it ball to hand or hand to ball??  Fortunately for Hertford Town it wasn't given on the night. St Mags pushed for an equaliser but found the Hertford Town keeper Lee Robinson and the home side back four in good form, they all certainly worked very hard on the night to keep their well deserved clean sheet.

The game also contained a contender for sliding tackle of the season already (see video 3 minutes 35 seconds). Proof non-league is where proper football is.
