A LATE WINNER GAINS AN IMPORTANT THREE POINTS FOR FOREVER YOUNG PEOPLE OVER WELYWN WARRIORS
Before I start the match report on the game between Forever Young People FC and Welwyn Warriors I thought I'd take the time to introduce the Forever Young People organisation which "provides bespoke, personalised and differentiated coaching packages for young people from primary school age up to college students and also offer motivating and self developmental Coaching for adults."
"FYP aims to engage these young people in the local community and to build their self-esteem, which will enable them to unlock their potential.
Sadly, our society seems increasingly willing to ‘disregard’ young people; all too easily excluding them from schools, closing community youth facilities and generally taking away the opportunity for young people to build their identities or have any feelings of self-worth.
Where possible we create a safe environment in which they are encouraged and supported to build the foundation of their fundamental development and growth.
Sparking the initiative of social change, to break the barrier for young people and their community."
Ashley Maher who founded the organisation also runs the football side which were formed in 2021 (and plays in goal!) who went into this game top of the Hertfordshire Advertiser Sunday League Division Two table.
This was a tight game and neither side created many chances of note until FYP hit the angle of bar and post in the second half. It was looking like a 0-0 draw but FYP scored a very late headed goal from a cross from the left hand side to take the all important three points.

There are 8 teams in the division with each playing each other three times meaning 21 games are played in total. Forever Young People are in a strong position but both Mermaid FC and Little Heath Sunday could overtake them - they both have a lot of games to play by the end of the season.
In next week's group of fixtures there is a very interesting one where AFC London Road take on AFC London Road Reserves in The Challenge Cup Semi-Final.
Forever Young People are away at Harpenden Old Boys Reserves with Welwyn Warriors at home to Little Heath Sunday in the Intermediate Cup Quarter-Final.
