MATCH PLAYED ON SATURDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER 2022
THURLOW NUNN FIRST DIVISION SOUTH
NW LONDON have had a up and down start to life in their debut season at Step Six of the non-league ladder after promotion from the Middlesex County League where they had an amazing season in 21/22 winning the league title as well as the Anagram Records Trophy and the Middlesex FA Intermediate Cup.
Going into this game, their first at their home ground of Brickfield Lane where they currently groundshare with Hadley FC, they have played eight league games with four draws and four defeats scoring eleven goals and letting in twenty goals.
SPORTING BENGAL UNITED were also adjusting to life at Step Six after relegation from the Essex Senior League last season going into the game with three wins and three defeats in league games and a FA Vase victory over Seaford Town. They had scored nine goals and let in thirteen goals in their league games.
What an entertaining game this was with some excellent football on show from both sides - It's a shame a crowd of only 15 people were in attendance. I'm glad I was one of them. NW LONDON have a number of Brazilian players in their squad with two standing out for me.
Bruno Bramucci, who has played in the state leagues of Brazil prior to moving to the UK, looks a very impressive athletic and tall central defender. He also has an eye for goal with a close ranger header in the first half and a free kick from outside of the box in the second half.
Thiago Esmerindo De Souza De Brito is an attacking winger with great skill and pace. He was in the same Santos youth team as Neymar up to the age of 18. He has played in the Second Teir of Brazilian football as well as clubs in Malta and the Middle East. Look out for Thiago - I think a player with his ability could play at a much higher level of football.
The home side lead 4-1 at half time and the final score was 6-2.
Both sides showed what a topsy-turvy season they are having in their next games.
Sporting Bengal United beat local rival's Tower Hamlets 0-2 in their next game before losing 2-1 to Hackney Wick.
NW London won 1-2 at Park View in the League Challenge Cup before losing 6-1 at Wivenhoe Town which was The Dragons first league win of the season having lost 5-0 to Burnham Ramblers in their previous game.
