It was an extremely damp and soggy evening at Hertford Town last Wednesday as Hatfield Town welcome Hackney Wick for what became a very eventful pre-season friendly. The Bullz will be ground sharing at Hertfingfordbury Park for the 22/23 season. The rain fell for the full 90 minutes which contained some late and crunching tackles from both sides.
The Wickers took an early lead when a marvellous run from inside his own half by Club Captain Justin Domfeh assisted his team mate to shoot home from the edge of the six yard box.
Former Chingford Athletic winger Benson Osejindu had a very good game for the visitors and he assisted for the second goal just prior to half time from the right wing.
The second half saw Hatfield Town make an impressive come back with the score being 1-2 they equalised and then on the final kick of the game they made it 3-2 to record a memorable victory.
The Wickers started their season this weekend with a home game (they currently ground share at Witham Town) against Brimsdown which they won 1-0 with a goal from Solaiman Nakmouche.
Town won their final pre-season game at Broxbourne Badges 0-5 on Saturday and start their Herts Senior County Premier Division season with a home game against Sandridge Rovers next Saturday and then a trip to Cockfosters Reserves on Tuesday 8th August.
Hackney Wick host Burnham Ramblers in the Thurlow Nunn First Division South on Wednesday and then have another home game against NW London on Saturday.
