HAT TRICK HERO SOLOMAN OFORI HELPS HADLEY WIN THE GLADWISH CHALLENGE TROPHY

MATCH PLAYED ON MONDAY 9th MAY 2022

Hadley said a big farewell to Step Five football with a memorable 3-1 victory over Stotfold in The Spartan South Midlands League Gladwish Challenge Trophy at Leverstock Green's Pancake Lane stadium.

Soloman Ofori scored an impressive second half hat-trick after Jack Bradshaw had opened the scoring for Stotfold in first half with a sensational volley from the edge of the penalty box. Check out Ofori's second goal which was equally as impressive as Bradshaw's strike.

The first half saw Ofori involved in a controversial incident that has been viewed on  twitter over 10,000 times and also commented on by many fans. Ofori's lightning pace saw him through on goal for Sam Nicholls to put a challenge in - Was there contact or wasn't there contact? - I'll let you decide from the footage below. The referee thought there was and red carded Nicholls.

The Bricks celebrated long into the night with their loyal fans who had made the trip and who will be looking forward to Southern League Division One (Central) football next season following their promotion to Step Four.

Despite the defeat it's been an amazing season for Stotfold with the Division One title won and promotion back to Step Five football which would of been Manager Brett Donnelly's primary aim last summer. They have also won the Bedfordshire FA Senior Trophy and been runner's up in the Division One trophy to local rival's Shefford Town & Campton.
