FORMER WALTHAMSTOW AND HENDON FC STRIKER DWADE JAMES MADE HIS DEBUT FOR ENFIELD FC
Enfield FC have have made some ripples in the Essex Senior League waves by making some eye catching signings for the forthcoming season with many fans predicting they may well be up the top end of the the table challenging for promotion come the business end of the campaign. Jamie Cureton's side entertaining Histon FC last Wednesday in a match played at Ware's Wodson Park as the pitch at Bishops Stortford, where they currently ground-share, is still being prepared and worked on.
The Stutes are preparing for life in The Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One (Midlands) for the 2021/22 season. Since promotion from the Eastern Counties Premier Division in 2000 with their rise and subsequent descent to and from the top of non-league's pyramid they have played in Southern League Division One (East), Southern League Premier Division, Conference South, Conference, Conference North, Southern League Division One Central, Eastern Counties Premier, Isthmian League Division One North and now their current league which will see them have short trips to play Cambridge City (who currently ground-share at Histon) and Soham Town Rangers as well as as journeys to Ilkeston Town, Belper Town and Shepshed Dynamo.
Enfield started with a host of former Walthamstow players with James Bansgrove in goal (who last played for Dunmow Town and Saffron Walden Town), Benji Crilley, Jack Folan, Luke Wilson, Ryan Ramsay, Reece Conway and Dwade James in the XI players who took to the field which also included players re-signed from last season in Toby Barlow (who has played for Romford in the past), Vinny Murphy (Redbridge FC), Olly Miles (Bishops Stortford) and Isaac Stevens (Enfield Borough).
On the bench they had goalkeeper Jack Wilmot, Jack Johnson, Alex Warman, Jack Cousins and Louis Johnson in players re-signed from last season alongside another former Stow player and ex Woodford Town Captain in Jack Grosvenor.
I'm sure the Essex Senior League games between Enfield and Walthamstow in the 2021/22 campaign will be hotly contested in front of big crowds - Stow's loud and loyal fans in "The Waltham Rabble" will most definitely want to put one over their former players!
FORMER WOODFORD TOWN & STOW DEFENDER JACK GROSVENOR CAME ON IN THE SECOND HALF FOR ENFIELDThe hosts were much the better side in this game against a Histon side who included Andy Ballester, Lewis Mair, Charlie Lewis, Sam Roach, Finley Wilkinson and Ed Rolph in their line up. They should of been 1-0 up at half time with Dwade James hitting the bar from a close range header midway through the first half.
The Stutes defended well with both sides making a number of changes in the second period and it was only a late Olly Miles strike from outside of the box which crept under the away keeper that separated the two sides.
