CUFFLEY END BELSTONE'S WINNING RUN IN AN ENTERTAINING AND QUALITY 2-2 DRAW AT ROWLEY LANE

Belstone welcomed Cuffley to London Lion's Rowley Lane ground last night for a Hertfordshire Senior County Premier Division game which was highly entertaining played on one of the best pitches in the local area.

Coming into the game Belstone were in great form - After losing their opening day game against Wingate and Finchley Development they had won eight games in a row including an Aubery Cup victory over W&F to gain some revenge. In those games Belstone had scored 22 goals and let in just just 3 with five clean sheets.

Cuffley's last game had been their 2-5 victory at Hatfield Town (Highlights Here)  so they too would of been in a confident mood prior to kick off.

Both sides played some quality football and there were some excellent players on the pitch - Cuffley's first goal was a fantastic free kick from outside of the box scored by Kaci Henry who had hit a hat-trick against Hatfield Town last time out.

The score was 1-1 at half time but it was 1-2 shortly into the second half when (player name to follow) ran through on the left hand side of the box and skilfully chipped the ball over the Belstone keeper to score one of the goals of the season so far - I say it many times watching non-league football but if a Mo Salah or Sergio Agüero had scored a goal of this quality it would of been viewed millions of times on social media - Of course I've nothing against these players but wish more coverage could be given to our game across all levels!

Belstone pushed hard for an equaliser and scored with around twenty minutes to go to make it 2-2. Neither side deserved to lose the game so a draw was probably about the right result. Full credit to both sides especially Cuffley who played the ball out from the back even when under pressure in the last minutes of the game where some teams would of booted it long into the corners to hold out for a draw.
