BIGGLESWADE FC MAKE THIER OWN BIT OF HISTORY IN THE EMIRATES FA CUP

It was an afternoon to remember for everyone involved with Biggleswade FC last Sunday as they recorded 2-1 home win over AFC Dunstable to move in the Third Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup for the first time since they were formed in 2016. The victory was earnt in dramatic fashion as when 18 year old Sean Duodu had equalised for AFC in the 88th minute it looked like the tie would go to a reply. It took a penalty kick on 90+8 minutes from Lee Northfield to win it as you'll see in the highlights. Biggleswade's first goal scored just before half time by Adam Hunt could be described as a 'thunderbolt'.

BIGGLESWADE FC'S STRIKER AMIR HADI WAS NAMED MAN OF THE MATCH AND HE CERTAINLY DESERVED IT AS HE HAD FLOWN BACK FROM A WEDDING IN MORROCCO ESPECIALLY FOR THE GAME.

FC's cup run so far has seen them beat Stansted (after a replay), London Lions, Basildon United and AFC Dunstable - they host Isthmian Premier Division side Canvey Island in the Third Qualifying Round which is due to take place at Bedford Town's ground where FC currently ground-share but have been playing their games at Barton Rovers whilst a new 3G pitch is laid at The Eyrie. The Eagles played their first game on the new surface yesterday so it looks like all systems go for Biggleswade FC to play there too.
