BREXIT HAPPENS - THE ROBINS ARE RAMPANT AT GOFFS LANE

THE NEW MILTON KEYNES ROBINS BADGE AND NAME HAD A NOD TO THE HISTORY OF BUCKINGHAM TOWN. THE CLUB WERE RE-NAMED IN JANUARY 2019 AFTER BUCKINGHAM TOWN HAD BEEN PLAYING AT MANOR FIELDS IN THE BLETCHLEY AREA OF THE TOWN.

FC Broxbourne Borough exited the the Spartan South Midlands League Division One Cup (hence BRexit happening) at the first round stage last night as the visiting MK Robins continued their run of excellent form with a dominant 0-6 win. The Robins victory sees them now 12 league and cup games unbeaten. They even had the luxury of having top scorer George Shrieves on the bench.

Mason Spence (MK Robins number 8) who is usually a full back played in an attacking midfield role and was the man of the match scoring a hat-trick and creating a number of other chances. The 24 year old started the season in the BetVictor North Division with Cambridge City and was making only his second start for The Robins. He was born in Milton Keynes and started as a professional with MK Dons and Colchester United - He has also played for Concord Rangers, St Neots Town, Stony Stratford Town, Hayes & Yeading United, Chelmsford City, Dunstable Town, Hitchin Town and Arlesey Town in his career so far.

Jamie Sylvester (2) and Jack Clarkson were the other scorers for the Robins.

For the home side it was a real evening to forget - they were unbeaten in 10 games previous to this one and like The Robins are still involved on the Road to Wembley in the Buildbase FA Vase.

Broxbourne host Rayners Lane on Saturday before a trip to Stotfold on Saturday 26th October - they then travel to Premier Division Leighton Town in the Vase Second Round.
