LANGFORD VERY UNLUCKY IN CUP DEFEAT TO COLNEY

Langford welcomed London Colney to Forde Park on Tuesday night for a Spartan South Midlands League Division One Cup game. The hosts, having lost three league games in a row in late August/early September (one against Colney away 1-3), had improved their form with four wins in their last six games faced Colney who are currently topping the table by eight points having won fifteen of their eighteen league games.

It turned out to be another great game of football served up by the Spartan South Midlands League. Colney took an early lead with a fantastic strike from outside of the box and increased their lead in the second half to 0-2. However, it was Langford who can really count themselves very unlucky not to win the game or at least take it to extra time as during the 90 minutes  they hit the post twice, bar once as well as the Colney keeper making a few impressive saves.
Colney managed to hold on and could of scored a third themselves late on but for a goal-line clearance from the home side.
