SOUTHILL ALEXANDER EASE PAST RENHOLD UNITED TO EARN 2ND HOME VICTORY OF THE SEASON

The Cold End had a choice tonight or staying in to watch Manchester United V AC Milan on the television or venture out somewhere to watch some real football. I chose the second option and visited the glory of the Bedfordshire County Football League Premier Division sponsored by Sportsform to watch second from bottom Southill Alexander face off against seventh placed Renhold United.

The cold end has seen Alexander play once before this season (see link here) with much written elsewhere on the web about the newly formed club who ground share at The Carlsberg Stadium, home of Biggleswade Town.

For the vast majority of this match The Bishops as they are known were well in control. Renhold United had started the better team and deservedly took a 1-0 lead only to be pegged back to 1-1 at half-time.

After the break it was all the home side as they ran up a scoreline of 5-2 in a very welcome win for Steve Foster's team who prior to tonight had only won twice in their fourteen league games.

Both sides played some nice football in good spirit which is what the beautiful game is all about.

I would like to thank the Southill Alexander club officials for offering me such a warm welcome tonight and wish them, Steve Foster and his team the best of luck for the rest of the season.

Full Time - Southill Alexander 5 Renhold United 2
