BUNTINGFORD TOWN THROUGH ON PENALTY KICKS AT HATFIELD TOWN

It was Hertfordshire Senior County League Aubery Cup day on Saturday as Division One Buntingford Town visited Premier Division Hatfield Town. The visitors have recently appointed former Hadley FC coach Sav Fusco as manager and went into this game on a run of five defeats in a row. 

It was an entertaining game with Buntingford taking the lead through a penalty kick only for Hatfield to quickly equalise to make it 1-1 at half time. Hatfield had a shout for a penalty of their own which looking at the replay looks like a foul - I think their player being booked for simulation was really harsh. 

The home side made it 2-1 with a cheeky back heal only for Buntingford to score a really scrappy equaliser and make it 2-2 at full time. The game kicked off at 1.45pm and with the light already fading 8 minutes each way of extra time was played but the sides couldn't be separated - Buntingford could of made it 2-3 right at the end only for their player to scoop the ball over the bar from close range when it looked easier to score.

The visitors recorded a famous victory for them when the kicks from the penalty mark went down to sudden death and they won 6-7.
