FA VASE STALEMATE AT HERTINGFORDBURY PARK

It was a Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division v Essex Senior League FA Vase clash at Hertingfordbury Park as Hertford Town entertained Clapton on a very wet Saturday afternoon.  There was rain on and off throughout the game which effected my camera somewhat in capturing some of the highlights - I think I've done a decent enough job.

The East London side, backed by a decent following of their Ultra fans, played much of the game and extra time against ten men when Hertford goalkeeper Jayden Purdue was sent off for a foul just outside of the box on 15 minutes. He did make contact so the referee probably did make the right decision although there was covering defender (Glenn Draper) for the Clapton player to get round - Have a look at the replay to make your decision and see if you agree with the referee?

Credit to Gavin Kelsey's side as I think anyone who arrived late wouldn't of noticed that they were down to ten men as they created the best chances

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
not including the extra time period played

Tyler Hatherly had a penalty kick well saved and was unlucky not to score on more than one occasion and Glenn Draper's shot grazed the upright in the second half after a turn after a neat bit of skill in the box by the central-defender.

Extra Time was played (not captured on camera) but there was no breakthrough and it ended all square. The replay takes placed at The Old Spotted Dog in Forest Gate on Tuesday evening.
