GOALS FROM KIRBY, BYFIELD, FORWARD AND HALL SEND TOWN TO THE TOP OF THE LEAGUE IN MAGIC 2-4 AWAY VICTORY

Maldon and Tiptree 2 Enfield Town 4
Ryman League Division One (North)

The goal scoring machine that is centre back Mark Kirby set Town off to another fantastic victory which puts Town top of the league tonight. Against a strong Maldon and Tiptree side Town dominated proceedings in the first half with Kirby putting Town ahead early on. Bryan Hammat and Adam Wallace ran their socks off up front causing the Maldon back four (which included ex Enfield FC player Grant Cooper) all sorts of problems. Sammy Byfield also put in a good performance on the left hand side and it was he who put Town 0-2 up after an excellent one-two with Hammat on the edge of the box. Town were playing so well and could of been 3 or even 4 up by half time only for Maldon and Tiptree to bring the score back to 1-2 with a penalty that was initially saved by Rob Blackburn only for the rebound to bounce out to the taker who got another shot in which Rob got behind but the ball was adjudged to have crossed the line.

The expected Maldon come back was put on Ice early in the second half when Adam Wallace made a great run into the box to pass the ball into the danger area where Dan Forward scored by firing a shot past Tony Tucker.

The home side showed they are a good outfit and put Town under some pressure scoring to make the game a nervous looking 2-3. There was never any need to worry though as on 85 minutes Rudi Hall made it 2-4 with a shot after being set up by Adam Wallace.

A great performance which puts Town deservedly top of the league!!  Maldon have a good squad of players for the Ryman Division One (North) and will no doubt go on a run of form soon. Not many more teams (if any??) will scored four times against them on their own ground throughout the season.

Watch the highlights below including all four of Town's goals -
