ROYSTON HIT HATFIELD FOR SIX!!

Table topping Royston Town travelled to Hatfield Town tonight for a Spartan South Midlands Premier Division match. The Crows are having a fantastic season winning 10 of their 12 league matches prior to this evening’s game scoring 36 goals in the process.  The Blue Boys had only won twice in their 8 league matches and let in 19 goals along the way.
The result went with the form book as the visitors strolled to an easy 0-6 victory with three goals in either half.   A big positive for Royston is that I believe they played better when I last saw them against Hoddesdon Town on Saturday 6th August in the Hertfordshire FA Charity Shield and in that game they lost 1-2.
I’m sure Hatfield Town will be looking to convert some of the form and spirit they showed in their FA Cup run (which ended against Leighton Town on Saturday 1st October) into their forthcoming league games.  Their two wins have come against bottom of the table Holmer Green and mid-table Harefield United.
As for Royston Town they have now scored an amazing 42 goals in their 13 league games with only Dunstable Town (currently sixth position) the only other side to score over 30 goals! The Crows look set to battle Leverstock Green (who are two points below them) for the title with Hillingdon Borough and Tring Athletic waiting in 3rd and 4th place hoping that the top two to slip up.
Here are the six goals that Royston Town scored against Hatfield Town tonight –
