THE SEAN MYNOTT TROPHY 2019 - WARE v WODSON PARK
THE PLAYERS AND SUPPORTERS PRESENT HELD A MINUTES APPLAUSE
It was a wonderful Saturday afternoon as former players of both Ware and Wodson Park along with the current Ware squad came together to remember Sean Mynott who sadly passed away earlier this year, aged just 37 years of age, only days after being diagnosed with metastatic esophageal cancer. Sean had held a number of voluntary positions with both clubs including Treasurer, PA announcer, programme editor and Secretary for Ware.
One thing is for sure - Sean would of loved this game as it was a highly entertaining 90 minutes with former players from both sides making appearances as a mark of respect for him and all the hard work he did for football in the local area.
The first half saw a team made of Ware legends and former players take on a team made up of Wodson's veterans and ex players. Ware fielded players including Harry Ricketts, Dave Blower, Danny Wolf, Rob Halsey, Michael Bardle, Kai Ramshaw, Sam Berry, Danny Spendlove, Chris Ellerbeck, John Frendo, Joe Stevens, Tony Neilson and Jimmy Martin. It was 3-0 at half time with Frendo and Bardle scoring two of the goals - The Wodson keeper made two fantastic saves to keep the score down.
LIAM HOPE - WARE'S NEW SIGNING IN ACTION ON SATURDAY
The second half saw Ware's first team squad take to the field and run in seven goals with former Enfield Town striker and newly signed Liam Hope scoring a hat-trick. I'm sure he'll be in and amongst the goals for his new side this season. Highlights of the game are below minus two of the Ware second half goals that were not captured on camera.
