It was an evening to remember for Lewisham Borough on Monday as they put in an amazing performance to win 4-0 against Sutton Athletic who arrived at The Ladywell Arena in second place of the Southern Counties East League Division One and still in with an outside chance of winning the title. The defeat and Stansfeld's 1-0 victory over Larkfield and New Hythe on Tuesday evening ended Athletic's chances of finishing top but they still have a chance of promotion in the end of season play-offs.
Lewisham dominated throughout the game and it could of been a higher score line as they created many chances. Abioseh Davies was the star of the show for Lewisham scoring 3 goals. Towards the end of the game Lewisham could of scored what would of been a very impressive team goal when they passed the ball around keeping possession for over a minute with Simon Jordan's shot tipped over the bar by Joe Hyde in the Sutton goal.
