Enfield Borough kicked off their Thurlow Nunn First Division South campaign with a 1-0 win over Park View last Tuesday. Jacob Melford netted a later winner for the home side with a low shot from outside the box just moments after the visitors had the ball in the net only for it to be ruled out for offside.
As usual Borough had a number of impressive young players in their starting XI - Their central defender Harry Phantis had a very good game who played for the club's under 18 Eastern Junior Alliance side last season. He is certainly a player with a big future in my opinion.
Borough got another home win on Saturday with a 4-3 victory over Clapton FC with 17 year old Kyle Finlayter-Lynch netting twice.
Park View who had already lost 3-1 to Southend Manor on the opening Saturday of the season went on to lose 4-1 at May & Baker on Friday evening. They host St Margaretsbury on Wednesday evening on the League Challenge Cup. Borough make the short trip to Hadley FC to play NW London on Tuesday evening in the same competition.
