WARE WINNERS AGAINST WYCOMBE WANDERERS XI

Ware were 1-0 winners against a youthful Wycombe Wanderers XI at Wodson Park in a pre-season friendly played on Thursday evening. The Chairboys played football the right way with short slick passing and patient build up play from the back four for the whole 90 minutes, their centre-back pairing of Anthony Stewart and Charles Dunn impressed the cold end looking confident, composed and never hurried on the ball at all times. Maybe two names to look for in the future??

Both teams played this pre-season friendly in good spirit and as you will see from the match highlights below it was an entertaining encounter. Ware won the game with a goal in the 2nd half when Lewis Donovan put a cross in from the left hand side which the Wycombe goalkeeper Matt Ingram could only parry into the path of Ware substitute Ricardo Allured whose shot hit the back of the net from about the edge of the six yard box. Donovan, who has played for Boreham Wood and spent some time with Potters Bar Town last season, put in a sturdy performance for Ware.

Wanderers could of been 1-0 at this time following an excellent passing move started in his own half and nearly finished (but for a brilliant save from Ware substitute goalkeeper Obey Murefu) by right winger Nathan Olukanmi - Murefu just tipped his looping shot from the edge of the box over the bar.

The young Wycombe side can count on being unlucky not to get a positive result from the game. As with all pre-season games there was a raft of substitutions at the break and throughout the second half.
