WALTHAM ABBEY 'A' TAKE SECOND LEG OF POSSIBLE TREBLE BY LIFTING THE CENTENARY TROPHY

Waltham Abbey 'A' completed the second leg of possible treble with a 2-1 win over Broxbourne Badgers in the Hertford and District Centenary Trophy on Friday evening. The Badgers had been the better side in the first half and went in 0-1 up at half time only for Waltham Abbey to come back with two goals to lift the trophy. Their first goal was a real eye catching strike from outside of the box by Ryan Deer.

They had already won the Premier Division Cup Final on Friday 5th April with a 3-1 victory against Oracle Components and there is only a very slim mathematical chance the same team can overtake them in the Premier Division table with just one game left. Oracle host Waltham Abbey on Saturday 4th May in the final game of the league season - they are three points behind but will have to overturn a goal difference of nine goals as well as win the game to finish top. Oracle have a GD of +23 and Abbey have +32.
