NOT A CUP CLASSIC BUT COLNEY HEATH THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND

A VERY PICTURESQUE MOON OVER THE RECREATION GROUND LAST NIGHT

It was a Premier Division v Division One Spartan South Midlands League Challenge Trophy First Round game between Colney Heath and Broadfields United on Tuesday evening. It was a return to The Recreation Ground which holds  for the visitors from Middlesex as they won the competition last season here with a 3-1 victory over Risborough Rangers.

This game was never a cup classic with not much goalmouth action on offer between two hard working teams on a superb playing surface at The Recreation Ground. It was won by the home side by one goal scored in the 75th minute by former London Colney player Spencer Clarke-Mardel - he hit the back of the net from just inside the box.
