JEFFREY COBBLAH DOUBLE SEALS THE WIN FOR THE TONS

Enfield 1893 FC Matthew Hanning will still be wondering how his side didn't get something from today's Essex Senior League game with Clapton. They created a number of good chances throughout but found The Ton's keeper in good form - He made a number of good stops particularly in the first half. Jeffrey Cobblah was the hero for the visitors with a goal in either half to take the three points back to East London - Enfield 1893 FC did get a deserved goal back towards the end of the game and despite the defeat will be confident of getting something from their next game where they make the short trip to Sawbridgeworth Town next Saturday.

The Clapton Ultras who were welcomed by the Enfield 1893 FC committee gave some fantastic support as usual and were thanked by The Ton's team with handshakes on the terraces after. This happens at many non-league grounds up and down the country each and ever week and shows that at this level of football there is a special bond between fan and player that just can't be replicated in the top echelons of the game.

Clapton's next game is also away from The Old Spotted Dog when they travel to play Stansted next Saturday. The Clapton Ultras continue to boycott the historic club's home games in protest against the current ownership.

A crowd of 146 people saw this game.
