Wembley joined a select list of clubs with their 1-2 victory at St Panteleimon in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties Premier Division (North) yesterday. Since The Saints moved across from The Kopa League and joined Saturday football in 2017 they have only lost eleven league games with only London Lions, Winslow United, Hanworth Villa and now The Lions the only teams to pick up three points from visits to play them.

The Saints home league record since joining Step Eight in 2017 is as follows -

P W D L GF GA GD PTS
50 36 10 4 171 57 +114 118

The visitors played some good football at times in difficult soggy and rainy conditions at The Queen Elizabeth Stadium to pick up their seventh win of nineteen league games played this season. Qasim Khan scored both goals in the second half which were his 14th and 15th in 26 league and cup appearances for the 2021/22 season. The second goal was somewhat controversial with a possible foul in the build up to it - Was it shoulder-to-shoulder or was it a push? Lots of people have commented on social media and it's a 50/50 split so far I would say.

PLAYING IT OUT FROM THE BACK NICELY - HOW THE LIONS SET UP FROM GOAL-KICKS

The Saints scored a late goal (not captured on camera) to make the final few minutes a little nervy for Wembley but they held out to record a memorable victory.

Wembley make the short trip to face Edgware Town next weekend - The Saints travel to Stag Meadow to play Windsor.

WEMBLEY FC ARE NOW MEMBERS OF THE EXCLUSIVE AND SELECT "THREE POINT CLUB" FROM VISITS TO ST PANTELEIMON
