With Dynamo Minsk losing 0-1 to BATE Borisov on Thursday it was Neman Grodno who closed the gap to just one point with a 0-2 away win at Slavia Mozyr on Sunday with one of their goals coming from former Slavia player Yurii Pantea.  The slender lead didn't last long as Dynamo won 1-3 at Dynamo Brest on Monday afternoon to put them four points ahead with just three games to play.

The Dynamo v BATE game was a real smash and grab victory for the visitors as the hosts had seven shots on target and twelve corners to BATE's two shots on target and just one corner.

The race for the final European place is down to either Torpedo Belaz-Zhodino, Isloch, BATE Borisov, Gomel and Slavia Mozyr.

For Slavia they do have a 'mathematical chance' but would have to rely on a spectacular and more than unlikely turn of form for the teams above them.

At the bottom of the table last week I incorrectly stated that the third bottom team would take part in the relegation play off as has been the case for the past few seasons - this is incorrect. This season only the bottom team will go down automatically with the second from bottom team taking part in the play-off.

Energetik-BGU won a very important game 0-1 at Belshina at the weekend which keeps them in with a chance of finishing second from bottom.

Shakhtyor Soligorsk have escaped going down with their 35 points deduction for the match fixing scandal - They would be on the edge of the play-offs in a normal season.

They will start the 2024 season on -20, Energetik on -10 and Belshina on -5.

THIRD PLACE QUALIFY FOR PROMOTION PLAY OFF WITH SECOND FROM BOTTOM IN PREMIER LEAGUE.

Arsenal Dzerzhinsk were crowned champions of the Belarusian Second Tier on Saturday with a comprehensive 1-5 win at Slonim. It's a repeat of the the 2021 season as Arsenal sealed the title with a 3-1 home win over Slonim - The club will now compete in the 2024 Belarusian Premier League and will hope for a better showing then the 14th of 16th place in the 2022 season. All in all it's been a very eventful few years for Arsenal since they were formed in 2019.

It's looking very much like either Vitesbsk or DNEPR Mogilev will join them in the top three. Maxline can now only finish as high as fourth with Lokomotiv needing to win all three of their remaining games and rely on either Vitesbsk or DNEPR to lose all of their games.
