THE BOTTOM THREE OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE LAST SEASON IS CURRENTLY THE TOP THREE IN THE FIRST LEAGUE
ARSENAL DZERZHINSK

It's looking like a quick return to the top flight for Arsenal Dzerzhinsk who subject to DNEPR and Vitebsk's results need only four more points to win the title.

Former Slutsk and Smolevichi boss Alexandr Brazevich was appointed manger in July after the departure of Sergey Pavlyukovich who had only been in charge since January. Pavlyukovich's squad had made an excellent start to the season winning their first ten games in a row. However, a run of four games without a win (three were drawn) saw a change in the dug out.

Since Brazevich has been in charge they have won twelve and lost one of thirteen games played. Andrey Levkvets who made 15 appearances for FC Minsk in the 2022 Premier League has chipped in with 11 goals in 28 league games from midfield along with Kazakhstani striker Matvey Gerasimov who has 11 goals in 21 league games.

Two former former BATE Borisov youngsters have impressed. Nineteen year old midfielder Danila Zhupla has scored 4 times in 25 league games and defender Arseni Ageev, also 19, has has played 26 league games scoring 6 goals. Both are Belarus u19 Internationals.

Belarus u17 striker Ruslan Myalkovskiy who turns 18 next May also looks a good prospect making 14 appearance to go with his 10 in the Premier League last season.
DNEPR MOGILEV
Former Smorgon boss Vyacheslav Gerashchenko who was previously in charge of DNEPR between 2011 and 2013 re-joined the club last December after taking Naftan Novopolotsk to the First League title last season.

It's real managerial merry-go-round in Belarus as he was replaced at Naftan by former Torpedo Zhodino, Belshina Bobruisk, Slavia Mozyr, Smolevichi, Dynamo Brest and Belarus National manager Yuri Puntus who left Maxline Rogachev after a short spell with them. Albert Ryback replaced him in May after leaving Belshina Bobruisk with Puntus moved back to the newly relocated Maxline who new play 300km away in Vitebsk.

DNEPR won a very important game at the weekend winning 2-1against Maxline coming back from 0-1 down with former Isloch striker Martin Artyukh scoring the winner which was his 8th league goal of the season. The crowd for this game was 615.

Midfielder Yuri Klochkov, who played in the Premier League with Slutsk in 2021, has scored 20 goals in 27 league games. He has also played in Russia for Chernomorets Novorossiysk and in Crimea for Kafa Fedodosia.
VITEBSK
The last time Vitebsk were in the First League was in 2014 when after a three season stay in the second tier they were eventually promoted back to the Premier League after three years of finishing in third place. They beat DNEPR Mogilev in the two legged play-off final.

Alexsandr Pavlov was appointed manager in November after their relegation was confirmed. It's Pavlov's first foray into management having previously been Assistant at Energetik BGU - He is a former Belarus International and represented DNEPR, BATE, Okzhetpes (Kazakhstan) and Shakhtyor Soligorsk during his playing career.

Karen Vardanyan, 20, who only made one start last season mainly being used as a substitute has scored 14 goals in 28 league and cup games.
LOKOMOTIV GOMEL
Formed as the uniquely named  "Gomelzheldotrans" in 2008 they made their debut in the First League in 2014 after playing in the Gomel Oblast Championship and the Second League. They have since finished in 11th, 8th, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 4th, 5th, 6th and 6th so have been there of thereabouts in regards to the promotion to the top division. They are without a win in their last four games (two draws and two defeats) which has caused them to fall away from the top three. Crucially the two defeats came against DNEPR and Arsenal.
MAXLINE VITEBSK
The club were expected to do well this season. They were taken over by betting company 'Maxline' in 2021 and actually won the promotion play-off last season being Arsenal Dzerzhinsk over two legs. They were denied a licence to play in the Premier League and had to stay in the second tier.

As stated over the summer the club was moved from Rogachev to Vitebsk - They are currently the top scorers in the league on 72 goals but have also conceded 49

Former FC Minsk academy striker Ivan Grudko, 19, has netted 18 goals in 27 league games - I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn up in the Premier League next season if Maxline are not promoted.
OSIPOVICHI
Osipovichi are cut adrift at the bottom of the table with just 5 points with Shakhtyor Petrikov on 19 points above them. Their only victory came away from home 2-4 against Ostrovets with Vlad Chebotar scoring a hat-trick - He has previously played for Baranovichi and Slutsk Reserves.

Just 63 fans saw their most recent home game which was a 0-1 loss against Bumprom Gomel.

It's 38 year old Egor Dmitrachkov's first job in management having played for a number of lower division clubs during his playing career as a defender.

The club currently have two interesting overseas players in 24 year old Japanese midfielder Kosuke Namekata and 23 year old Vietnamese Xuan Thang Vu who also a midfielder who was with Premier League side Slavia Mozyr last season but didn't make a first team appearance.

Namekata has also played in Montenegro for FK Mornar and in Croatia with BSK Belica.
