Dynamo Minsk can go one step closer to their first title in Belarus since 2004 if they win against BATE Borisov on Thursday afternoon. Only Neman Grodno can finish above them who having their best season since 2002 when they finished as runner's up to BATE Borisov

In the battle for a EUROPA Conference League place it's between Torpedo Belaz Zhodino, Gomel, Isloch, BATE Borisov and Slavia Mozyr.

For BATE it could be their worst placed finish since they were promoted to the Premier League in 1998. Only in the 2005 season have they ever finished below the top three when they ended in fifth place - The fifteen time champions are currently in sixth place and have lost three of their last five games which came against Energetik-BGU, Isloch and FC Minsk.

SHAKHTYOR SOLIGORSK DEDCUTED 35 POINTS.
ENERGETIK-BGU DEDUCTED 23 POINTS.
BELSHINA BOBRUISK DEDUCTED 11 POINTS.

At the bottom of the table it's no surprise to see the teams with points deductions for the match fixing scandal of the 2022 season and subsequent investigation. Which team finishes in what position is yet to be decided although Engergetik are eight points from safety with only twelve left to play for and Belshina Bobruisk are currently on a run of ten league games without a victory with only two of those being draws.

As is usual for The Students they have a very young squad including a number of players from overseas. Fromer Gomel Manager Aleksey Merkulov has been in charge since May - He replaced Pavel Rodnenok who had been Manager since February 2022 and had previously managed Smorgon and Kazakhstan u19 and u21 sides amongst other teams.

They have 23 year old Kazakhstani defender Tair Nurseitov who joined from Shakhtyor Karagandy for this season. Wepa Jumayew who for the last two seasons has played for First League side Lokomotiv Gomel - The 22 year old midfielder was born in Turkmenistan and has represented their u23 International side.

Uzbekistani midfielder Amirbek Bakaev, 19, has also been a regular first team player after making four substitute appearances last season.

Ghanaian midfielder Isaac Gyamfi, 23, played for Albanian top tier side FK Tirana last season.

Kazakhstani u17 and u19 International Abinur Nurymbet, 18, has made eight starts in the Premier League for Energetik.

Rustam Turdimurodov, 19, who has represented Uzbekistan at u19 made the move from Pakhtakor and has featured in nine games.

Durma Maniougui, 18, who was born in Congo has played in eleven league games scoring one goal.

They also have two Russian players who are both midfielders. Aleksey Savchenko, 23, has been on the sub's bench numerous times in the last two seasons but is yet to get on the field. Danill Savchenko, 21, has made 2 appearances from the sub's bench. I'm unsure if they are related.

Form says it looks like Energetik and Belshina will finish in bottom two with Shakhtyor Soligorsk, who were also stripped of the 2022 Premier League title following the match fixing investigation, having to play in the play-off.

The Students will return to the second tier for the first time since 2018 season and Belshina going down to the First League they left as runner's up in 2021.

Belshina also have a good number of overseas players mainly from African countries - Nigerian striker Fanen Akyam has played for Slutsk and Tambov is Russia. They have two players from The Ivory Coast in  midfielder Yao Djaha who has also played for Smorgon and defender Habib Fofana. Ibrahima Fofana from Guinea has made two sub appearances along with Cameroonian Audery Zepatta who has made 9 starts.

Like Belshina they have two Russian players who are both defenders - Danill Pakhomov, 20, has been an unused sub 5 times and Dmitri Bukshtan, 22, has been a first team regular.
