A NEW CLUB TO PLAY AT STAG MEADOW - WINDSOR & ETON

The name of WINDSOR & ETON FOOTBALL CLUB has not been seen of fixture lists since 2011 when the original club who were founded in 1892 unfortunately withdrew from the Southern League Premier Division as they were wound up due to large debts outstanding.

Windsor FC were formed a short while later and joined the Combined Counties League Premier Division for the 2011/12 season playing at Stage Meadow.

The 2022/23 campaign was one to forget as the club were relegated from the Premier Division North after finishing second from bottom in the table with only Oxhey Jets below them.

A new club has recently been formed from a consortium of Windsor Youth FC and former Windsor & Eton player and Windsor FC manager Mark Cooper with an announcement made that the Crown Estate has agreed a lease at Stag Meadow for the 23/24 season with the new entity.

The new club is to be named WINDSOR & ETON FOOTBALL CLUB with the badge shown above. There are plans to install a 3G surface at the ground.

It is not yet been confirmed what league or level the new club will play at or what will happen to the WINDSOR FC club formed in 2011 - Reports I have read state that they still plan to enter a team in the Combined Counties League Division One for next season.
