DULWICH HAMLET MAKE FIVE SIGNINGS FOR THE NEW SEASON

DULWICH HAMLET are preparing for life back in the Isthmian League Premier Division by making a number of impressive signings. The South London side return to Step Three after a five season spell in The Vanarama National South Division and will be managed by Hakan Hayrettin - The former Maidstone United, Braintree Town, Grays Athletic, Thurrock and Waltham Forest boss joined the club in early March. The Hamlet have recently announced five new signings -

Left Back Craig Braham-Barrett has joined after spending the last two seasons with Tonbridge Angels. The 34 year old Monserrat International began his football career in the Dulwich Academy - He has played for a huge number of clubs including Aveley, Potters Bar Town, Eastleigh, East Thurrock United, Welling United, Peterborough United, Kettering Town, Grays Athletic, Farnborough, Havant & Waterlooville, Sutton United, Macclesfield Town, Cheltenham Town, Ebbsfleet United, Woking, Whitehawk, Dover Athletic, Braintree Town, Welling United, Chelmsford City, Hemel Hempstead Town and Dartford. Whilst with Cheltenham Town he made 74 League Two appearances between 2013 to 2015.

Centre Back Jerry Gyebi, 23, has joined after spending the 22/23 season with Hungerford Town where he made 36 National League South appearances. Prior to his time with The Crusaders he played for Enfield Town, Yeovil Town, Barnstaple Town and Poole Town as well as in Slovenia and Sweden. I saw Jerry play many times for Enfield Town and can confirm he's not only a fantastic player but a very nice guy off the pitch too.

Mark Ricketts, 38, brings with him a vast amount of experience. The defender has been with Boreham Wood since 2016 and prior to that played for Woking, Ebbsfleet United, MK Dons and Charlton Athletic where he started his career. He made 5 football league appearances whilst with the MK Dons in 05/06. He has played over 400 games in non-league's top division, won the FA Trophy in 2008 whilst with Ebbsfleet United (he was on the sub's bench in the game versus Torquay United at Wembley Stadium) and scored Boreham Wood's famous goal in the FA Cup Fourth Round game in 2022. His final game for the Hertfordshire team was the dramatic 3-2 play-off defeat at Notts County at the beginning of May.

Midfielder Ryley Scott has joined from Dagenham and Redbridge. The 21 year old was with The Daggers for the past two seasons and spent time on loan with Concord Rangers and Lewes. He has also played in the academy teams of both West Ham United and Ipswich Town.

Striker Adrian Clifton, 34, ended last season on loan with Hampton & Richmond Borough from Maidenhead United and like Braham-Barrett he is a full Monserrat International. He started his career in the Arsenal, Norwich City and West Ham United academy systems before representing Romford, Waltham Forest, East Thurrock United, Maidenhead United, Havant & Waterlooville, Staines Town, Bromley, Dagenham & Redbridge and Boreham Wood. He has made over 100 appearances in non-league's top division.

DULWICH HAMLET FANS BEHIND THE GOAL AT LEATHERHEAD DURING THE 2011 DIVISION ONE SOUTH PLAY OFF FINAL

The Hamlet regularly had crowds of over 3,000 at Champion Hill last season with a league average of 2,464 - To think the clubs of Isthmian League Premier Division clubs looked on enviously of their league average of 1,334 when they were last members in the 17/18 season.

The contrasting fortunes of clubs is indicated by The Hamlet's local rival's Tooting & Mitcham United who were in the 17/17 Isthmian Premier Division but will play the 23/24 campaign as a Step Five club in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South following The Terror's relegation from the South Central Division. It'll be the first time since 1956 Tooting and Mitcham United haven't played in the Isthmian League.
