STOTFOLD, LEIGHTON TOWN OR ANOTHER - WHO'S GOING TO WIN THE SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION?

In the race for the title in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division a gap has formed between the top two and the chasing pack with both Stotfold and Leighton Town having a a game and games in hand over currently third Crawley Green who have lost their last two league games. 

Stotfold won 2-1 at home to Tring Athletic on Saturday with goals from Mason Spence and Jack Bradshaw. Leighton Town did their goal difference no harm with an 0-8 victory at Hoddesdon Town Archie McClelland and Will Summerfield both scored twice. 

Back on the opening day of the season Leighton Town beat Stotfold 3-0 which is only one of two league defeats Stotfold have had so far. Their other loss came at Potton United (3-0) in November. 

Leighton Town's two league defeats have come at St Panteleimon (3-2) and at Dunstable Town (2-1).  

It's all leading up to Saturday 28th January when Leighton Town visit Stotfold in the biggest game of the season so far. 

Leighton Town have some huge games before then particularly next weekend when they visit the current holder's Newport Pagnell Town in the FA Vase Fourth Round next Saturday - The game is all ticket and likely to be sold out very soon!
