Maldon and Tiptree, under the new management of Peter Taylor, have had a brilliant Christmas and New Year period winning against Heybridge Swifts, Hullbridge Sports and Tilbury - all finished 1-0!
Gorleston had a great result on Saturday making the long trip to North London to play New Salamis and came away with a 1-3 victory which was their first away from home of the season. Could this be the start of a great escape by The Green Army?
For Coggeshall Town it's been a very difficult season - Since Jason Maher took over from Cliff Akurang as Manager in November they have picked up just one point in a 1-1 draw at Felixstowe and Walton United on Tuesday 27th December. They have lost their last two games 0-1 against league leader's AFC Sudbury and play-off chasing Grays Athletic so perhaps some more positive results are just around the corner? They are still without a league win all season with just five draws from twenty games played.
Tilbury have lost seven of their last ten league games with their only victories against Gorleston and Bury Town.
Witham Town are on a run of eight defeats in a row with their last win coming against Gorleston.
Great Wakering Rovers haven't won in twelve league games with their last win coming back on Saturday 8th October when they beat Coggeshall Town 2-1 at home.
Coggeshall Town host Chelmsford City tonight in the Essex Senior Cup and then their next three league games are Heybridge Swifts (home), Stowmarket Town (away) and Basildon United (home).
Gorleston host Felixstowe and Walton United on Saturday followed by a midweek Norfolk Senior Cup game against Acle United - they then have two very important home games which could shape their season when Witham Town visit on Saturday 21st January and Hullbridge Sports on Tuesday 24th January.
