THE BATTLE TO BEAT THE DROP FROM THE PITCHING-IN ISTHMIAN PREMIER DIVISION

 

There is half a season gone in The Pitching In Isthmian Premier Division with Herne Bay, Brightlingsea Regent, Bowers & Pitsea and Corinthian-Casuals currently occupying the drop zone places. 

Bottom of the table Herne Bay picked up a welcome three points on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Bowers & Pitsea. Brightlingsea Regent got one of the results of the season on Monday 2nd January when they won 2-0 against title challenging Bishop's Stortford and followed this up with a 3-3 draw at Margate on Saturday which should of been three points as they came from 2-0 down to be winning 2-3 only for The Gate to equalise on 90+3 minutes. 

Corinthian-Casuals, under the new management of Justin Fevrier who was appointed at the beginning of November, have won three of their last six games including two away from home at Billericay Town and Kingstonian.

The K's are hovering dangerously above the drop zone but the three points they took from their 0-1 win at play-off chasing Enfield Town on Saturday was very welcome. The win was their first away from home since March when they won 1-2 at Cray Wanderers. 

Margate and Bognor Regis Town haven't won a game in six and seven games respectively so could drop further down the league should this form continue.

HERNE BAY WILL BE MORE CONFIDENT GOING INTO THEIR AWAY GAME AGAINST KINGSTONIAN FOLLOWING THEIR HOME WIN AGAINST BOWERS & PITSEA. EQUALLY THE K'S WILL BE LOOKING TO FOLLOW UP THEIR 0-1 WIN AT ENFIELD TOWN, WHICH WAS THEIR FIRST IN EIGHT LEAGUE GAMES, WIN ANOTHER VICTORY TO MOVE THEM UP THE TABLE.
