Wrexham, Chesterfield and Yeovil Town are the current form sides in the division winning four and drawing two of their least six league games. Wrexham welcome Yeovil Town to The Racecourse Ground on Tuesday evening.
Aldershot Town, Barnet, Southend United, Stockport County and now King's Lynn Town have all had managerial changes so far this season. The Linets parted company with Ian Culverhouse today - The former Norwich City player had taken the Norfolk club from the Southern League Premier Division in 18/19 to non-league's top division for the 20/21 where they finished in 21st place and were reprieved of relegation due to the pandemic and no football being played below Step One. This season King's Lynn have won just twice in seventeen league games - both came away from home at Maidenhead United and Yeovil Town. They have lost their last eight league games.
Could Southend United have turned the corner under their new management team with their 1-2 victory at Altrincham on Saturday? It was The Shrimpers fourth league win of the season with previous victories coming at Kings Lynn Town and at home against Eastleigh and Dover Athletic. Their next games come at home to Maidenhead United on Tuesday 7th December followed by an away game at Notts County. They then host Vanarama South side Dorking Wanderers in the FA Trophy Third Round.
Woking either win or lose games it seems. From seventeen league games played they have won eight and lost nine - their next games come away at Solihull Moors on Saturday followed by a home fixture against Boreham Wood on Saturday 11th December.
Barnet are nearing their total of wins they managed last season. The Bees managed eight wins in forty-two games played in 20/21. This campaign they are on six from seventeen having had a good 1-2 away win at Woking on Saturday.
Bromley* and Boreham Wood* are the only clubs that have never played in the football league in the current top eight of the table. *Fans will argue that FC Halifax Town should or shouldn't be included on that list as they reformed after the demise of Halifax Town in 2008.
Wrexham's average crowd of 8,205 is only beaten by Bradford City and Swindon Town in League Two, thirteen clubs in League One and only slightly under Luton Town's 9,915 average in The Championship. The capacity at their Racecourse Ground is currently 10,771 which I'm sure will be full up by the end of the season.
Boreham Wood (last played 09/10), Bromley (06/07), Dagenham & Redbridge (99/00), Yeovil Town (96/97), Woking (91/92), Eastleigh (04/05), Aldershot Town (02/03), Maidenhead United (03/04), Wealdstone (13/14) and Dover Athletic (08/09) make up a healthy contingent of former Isthmian League sides.
