COMBINED COUNTIES LEAGUE 2019/20

The 2019/20 Combined Counties League kicks off in a little over a week with the Premier Division counting Ascot United (transferred from the Hellenic League Premier Division), Egham Town (relegated from the Isthmian League South Central Division), Frimley Green (promoted as runners-up in the First Division), Molesey (relegated from the Isthmian League South Central Division) and Sheerwater (promoted as champions of the First Division) as new clubs. Last season's Champion's Chertsey Town (promoted to Isthmian League), Horley Town (transfered to the Southern Combination League) along with AFC Hayes and Walton & Hersham (relegated to Division One) leave the division.

Joined those two clubs in Division One are Jersey Bulls (new club), Westside (promoted from the Surrey Elite Intermediate League) with Kensington Borough being renamed Kensington & Ealing Borough.

Jersey Bulls were formed in August 2018 and it was announced in September that the club would apply to join the English football league system following UEFA's decision to reject a membership application from the Jersey Football Association. Gary Freeman was appointed as the club's first manager after he left St Peter FC of the Jersey Football Combination Premiership. The Bulls will play at the 7,000 capacity Springfield Stadium on the Island and will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Guernsey who joined the same division in 2011 winning it at the first time of asking by 14 points from Bedfont Sports scoring 138 goals in just 34 league games.

A crowd of 963 saw them lose 0-3 to a Leicester City u23 side in one of their pre-season friendly games with League Two Stevenage FC also visiting the Island winning 3-4 in their first pre-season friendly game.

Their opening fixture at home to Ash United will be a historic occasions as it will be the most southerly football match ever played in English Football league pyramid system.

Westside FC were formed in 1996 as a Christian club representing West Side Church in Wandsworth. Last year they came fourth in the Surrey Elite Intermediate Football League Intermediate Division - they will be ground-sharing with Chessington & Hook United for the 2019/20 season.  The majority of the first team squad have come through the club's youth section.

The Swans will play at Step Six of the non-league pyramid after relegation from the Isthmian League in 2016 and then finishing bottom of the Premier Division last season.  The club were subject of a takeover in June with ownership changing hands - this saw Chairman Alan Smith standing down and with manager Perry Gough already departing a new boss in George Busumbru appointed. They no longer play at Stompond Lane which they moved out of 2018 and now ground share at the newly re-developed Elmbridge Xcel Sports Ground with local rival's Walton Casuals.
