BET365 OFFER ODDS FOR THE VANARAMA SOUTH DIVISION
Bet365.com offer have offered early odds for the Vanarama South Division with Billericay Town the favourites at 5/1. The blues made headlines last season with some big spending in the Bostik Premier Division - they have recruited a number of new players over the summer months as well as releasing a few key players from last season to.
Defender/Midfielder Jake Howells has recently signed from Dagenham and Redbridge along with former Bromley, Maidenhead United and Brentford striker Moses Emmanuel. Midfielder Simon Walton has come from Vanarama National side Sutton United, centre-back Ricky Hayles from Dulwich Hamlet, left back Callum Kennedy, centre back Joe Ellul returns to the club along with former Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Connor Hunte who had some stand out performances for Greenwich Borough and Kingstonian last season.
The Essex side are followed by Dartford at 6/1 (runner's up last season) with the Vanarama National relegated sides Torquay United at 8/1 and Woking at 9/1. Chelmsford City (3rd last season) are rated at 8/1.
Concord Rangers, under the new management of Sammy Moore and Jack Midson, have made a number of impressive signings and could be a good outside bet at 16/1.
I think Wealdstone, with Bobby Wilkinson in charge in his first full season having took over from the legendary boss Gordon Bartlett in August 2017, will do well - they are 25/1 and with Wilkinson reshaping The Stones squad over the past few months with lots of ins and outs I think they may well have a decent 2018/19.
Bostik Premier play-off winner's Dulwich Hamlet are rated at 33/1 - I think the South London side will surprise a few teams in their debut campaign in the division.
Hungerford Town are the real outsiders rated at 80/1.

LEAGUE IN FOCUS - THE SCOTTISH HIGHLAND LEAGUE
The Highland Football League was formed in August 1893 at the Inverness Workman's Club by employees of the Highland Railway Company who had their Company Headquarters located in the town.
The original league consisted of following clubs
Caledonian
(merged with Inverness Thistle in 1994 to form Inverness Caledonian Thistle)
Cameron Highlanders
(team representing The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders of The British Army)
Clachnacuddin
(still members of the league)
Forres Mechanics
(still members of the league)
Inverness Union
(merged with Inverness Thistle in 1895)
Inverness Citadel
(dissolved in 1937 but re-formed in 2010 and now play in the Inverness & District Football Association Division Two alongside teams such as Cairngorm Windows, Dog House and Highland Athletic)
Inverness Thistle
(see Caledonian)
Inverness Thistle won the inaugural 1893/94 championship with Clachnacuddin then dominating things somewhat winning forurteen of their eighteen titles in 1895, 1897, 1898, 1901, 1903, 1904, 1905, 1906, 1908, 1912, 1921, 1922, 1923 and 1924. The Lillywhites have since won the title four more times in 1939, 1948, 1975 and in 2004.
In 1994 the league lost three teams in Inverness Thistle and Caledonian who merged to form Inverness Caledonian Thistle along with Ross County who joined the Scottish Football League. County had played in the league since 1929. Then in 2000 they lost Elgin City and Peterhead who were also accepted into the SFL.
Things changed in 2014/15 when the league champions had the chance to qualify for promotion to the Scottish Football League via a play-off with the winners of the Lowland Football League (formed in 2013) with the winners then playing off against the bottom team of the SFL. No team has yet to gain promotion but the dream is still on for many teams
2014/15 - Brora Rangers beat Lowland League title winner's Edinburgh City but lost to Montrose .
2015/16 - Cove Rangers lost to Lowland League Edinburgh City.
2016/17 - Buckie Thistle lost to Lowland League East Kilbride.
2017/18 - Cove Rangers beat Lowland League Spartans but lost to Cowdenbeath.

Fort William have one of the most picturesque grounds in football due to the stunning views of the nearby Ben Nevis Mountain range afforded from their Claggen Park home. They have been members of The Highland League since 1985. Their highest placed finish came in their first season when they came 12th with 35 points and in 1990/91 when they came 12th again with a points total of 43.
Last season they finished bottom for the fifteenth time since they joined the division and didn't win a game letting in 184 goals in their 34 games played. Their last league win came on Wednesday 12th April 2017 when they won 4-1 at home to Strathspey Thistle.
It would be good to see The Fort winning some games this season. They start with a trip to Rothes who finished in 10th place last season.

VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE BETTING

They currently rate 2018 Vanarama North title winner's Salford City at 5/1 favourites. They are closely followed by the relegated sides from the football league in Chesterfield (7/1) and Barnet (12/1) - they make Leyton Orient and Wrexham both 12/1 chances too.
Barrow and Maidenhead United are the lowest rated teams both at 50/1. Barrow escaped relegation by just one point last season with The Magpies finishing in a respectable twelfth place in their debut season in non-league's top division.

AYLESBURY UNITED AND AYLESBURY FC - "EL QUACKICO" INTO IT'S SIXTH SEASON
For the long time loyal fans and everyone involved with Aylesbury United it must be a mixture of heartbreak and frustration that their spiritual home at Buckingham Road is still standing, albeit derelict behind security gates, despite not playing a home game there since 2006 when the lease on the ground ran out. For a club who were a regular fixture in the FA Cup round's proper in the 1980s and 1990s it's now been well over a decade since they had a home they could call their own in their home town. The Ducks began ground sharing at Chesham United before moving on to Leighton Town and Thame United before returning to Chesham United last season which is a 30 mile round trip from the town.
The beautiful game in the Buckinghamshire town has certainly changed over the last decade or so especially with the introduction of Aylesbury FC in 2009 who came about when Aylesbury Vale changed their name. The club had previously been called Haywood United between 2000 to 2005 following an amalgamation of Stocklake FC and Belgrave FC and before that Negretti and Zambra from when the club was formed in the 1930s - The roots of the club came from the Kings Cross area of London where the Negretti and Zambra company was originally based before relocation to the town.
The Moles replaced the The Ducks in the Southern League in 2010 when they won promotion from the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division and United finished bottom of the Southern League Division One (Midlands) winning just four league games in forty-two played.
Needless to say the rivalry between the two clubs since has become highly competitive with the 'El Quackico' being the first two games supporters in the town now look for - both have been members of the same division in the Southern League since 2013 as The Ducks made a return to the Southern League after a three season stay in the SSML.
If was reported that talks were held at the beginning of this year between the two clubs to see if there was any appetite for a ground share scenario at Aylesbury FC but nothing further has been announced.
THE HISTORY OF THE 'EL QUACKICO'
Green denotes Aylesbury United win
Red denotes Aylesbury FC win
Black denotes draw

Aylesbury FC didn't have the best of seasons in 2017/18 finishing in 21st (of 22) place but on a more positive note the club have strengthened alliances with local club Bedgrove Dynamos who run a large number of youth teams up to their first team in the Aylesbury and District League. There have also been a number of ground improvements at their Haywood Way ground.
They have also appointed a new manager in Scott Reynolds who was in charge of Leighton Town last season who finished 4th in the SSML Premier and also had an amazing run in the FA Vase going out at the Quarter-Final stage narrowly losing to 1874 Northwich in front of 1,109 people at Bell Close.
WHO WILL COME OUT ON TOP IN THE 2O18/19 EL-QUACKICO WILL OF COURSE BE DECIDED IN DUE COURSE - IT WOULD BE GREAT TO SEE A GOOD CROWD FOR THE GAMES - WITH THE POPULATION OF THE TOWN AROUND 60,000 I THINK THE LOCAL DERBY GAMES SHOULD BE PLAYED IN FRONT OF AT LEAST 500 PEOPLE.

TALKING TO LEON HUGHTON - WARE SPORTS LOOKING GOOD FOR THE 2018/19 SEASON
The Wodson Park sports centre will be a hive of activity every weekend for the 2018/19 campaign with Spartan South Midlands League Division One side Brimsdown ground sharing with Bostik League South Central Division side Ware along with SSMFL Division One Wodson Park playing at their ground (the athletic's track) behind the main sports centre and Ware Sports playing on the 3G pitch in between the two.
Ware Sports joined the Hertfordshire Senior County Premier Division in 2015 and have since finished in 10th, 4th and 3rd position. The Cold End spoke to joint first-team manager Leon Hughton (who counts Tottenham Hotspur, Stevenage Borough and Hoddesdon Town amongst his former clubs) about the club and the forthcoming season.
WHAT WAS THE BEST BIT OF LAST SEASON FOR WARE SPORTS?
I would have to say having our consecutive highest finish in the league and reaching the Aubrey Cup Final. Although we didn't win the final the experience holds massive for our young squad.
WHAT WAS THE WORST BIT OF LAST SEASON FOR WARE SPORTS?
Losing our very talented left-back , Mitchell Judge, for a big part of the season and possibly next due to injury.
WHO WERE THE BEST TEAM YOU PLAYED AGAINST?
Bovingdon FC
(Bovingdon ran away with the Premier Division title losing just two league games out of twenty-eight played finishing eighteen points ahead of runner's up Letchworth Garden City Eagles - Ware Sports did beat them 1-0 in the Aubery Cup semi-final just a month after losing 1-5 in a league game)
WHERE THERE ANY PLAYERS YOU FACED WHO REALLY STOOD OUT AND COULD PLAY IN A HIGHER LEAGUE?
To single out one player would be too difficult, there are many talented players in the league.
ARE THERE ANY PLAYERS AT WARE SPORTS WHO COULD PLAY AT A HIGHER LEVEL?
We have a few I believe are more than capable of playing higher in a year or two.
WHAT ARE YOUR AIMS FOR THE CLUB THIS FORTHCOMING SEASON?
Our aim is to continue to grow and achieve. We have been lucky enough to have these lads around us for a while now and if they want to they can go on to achieve great things together in our eyes.
WHICH TEAM ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING THIS FORTHCOMING SEASON?
All of them!
WHERE DO YOU SEE THE CLUB IN FIVE YEARS TIME?
I would love to see the club challenging in a higher league. Paul Gurney (Joint Manager) started our club from the ground so to gain promotion for him would be a dream come true and brilliant for all associated with Ware Sports FC. We have also added a reserve team for this season which we hope will strengthen the club and see more talented players challenging for a place into the first team.
IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING IN FOOTBALL WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Bring VAR into our league!!
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER WHAT'S YOUR PREDICTION FOR THE TOP THREE IN THE HERTS COUNTY PREMIER DIVISION FOR 2018/19?
Ware Sports, Letchworth City Eagles and Bedmond Sports.
WHICH TEAM WILL WIN THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE IN 2018/19?
Manchester City
You can follow Ware Sports on twitter @Waresportsfc - their pre-season training starts on Monday 2nd July and with the club running two sides this season new players will be made most welcome. If you are locally based and looking for a club to play for please contact them on social-media.

UPTON PARK AND CLAPTON FC CHARITY FUNDRAISER GAME
The historic name of Upton Park FC is back in football after the club were 'reformed' back in 2016 and have played a number of friendly games since. The original club were formed in 1866 and played in the first FA Cup in 1871/72 as well as winning the inaugriul London Senior Cup in 1883 as well as competing in the 1900 Olympic Games in Paris.
The club are scheduled to play Clapton FC at The Old Spotted Dog Ground (which is only a stone's throw from Upton Park's original home in West Ham Park) on Tuesday 31st July in a game with free entry to all but people are encouraged to make a donation to the charity Isla's Fight who are raising money for Isla Caton who is a three year old little girl with the rare form of childhood cancer Neuroblastoma. They are looking to raise £600,000 for treatment & a vaccine to get Isla well again.
IF YOU ARE IN THE EAST LONDON AREA ON THE DAY WHY NOT POP DOWN AND HELP THE CLUB RAISE SOME MUCH NEEDED MONEY FOR A WONDERFUL CHARITY.
"NO BATTLE NO GLORY" - TALKING TO SONER MUSTAFA - BUSH HILL RANGERS ARE BACK
Bush Hill Rangers were last seen playing at Goldsdown Road in the 2014/15 Spartan South Midlands League Division One season - their last competitive game came on Thursday 30th April 2015 when they beat title winner's Wewlyn Garden City 2-1 in front of 47 people - It's great to see the club making a comeback for the forthcoming season in the Hertfordshire Senior County League. The club will play their home games at the new Donkey Lane 3G pitch close to the home of Bostik Premier side Enfield Town Football Club. The Cold End spoke to Soner Mustafa who is a man of many talents as he is the manager/chairman and kit man for the club.
YOUR FOOTBALLING HISTORY?
I managed Bush Hill Rangers for eleven years and most recently I was at Ware U23’s, managing them last season.
YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT IN FOOTBALL?
Winning the London Cup with Bush Hill Rangers U18’s and then taking the same squad into the Spartan South Midlands League Division One.
WE LAST SAW BUSH HILL RANGERS IN THE 2014/15 SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE DIVISION ONE... WHAT'S THE HISTORY OF THE CLUB AND WHY ARE YOU MAKING A COME BACK FOR THE 2018/19 SEASON?
We took the same group of boys from an U18 amateur team into the semi-professional world, gaining promotion three times to get where we were – with the same core group.
After a few seasons in the SSML, it became too much for me to do on my own, so we passed on the club to Woodford Town FC.
Around this time I was diagnosed with throat cancer and I was unable to get involved in anything. I’m all good now and as the hunger for the game never went away so here we are now. Three seasons down the line and all of our boys have been playing elsewhere – so one night the same core group got together round my house to get us all back together. This year, we have a bigger team around us in the background, so we have a more stable foundation going into the season. All the boys will be stepping down divisions to play together, so we are excited.
WHERE WILL BUSH HILL RANGERS BE PLAYING THEIR GAMES FOR THE 2018/19 SEASON?
We will be playing in the Herts Senior County League Div One – with our home games being at Donkey Lane in Enfield – on the new artificial grass pitch.
WHAT ARE YOUR AIMS FOR THE CLUB THIS FORTHCOMING SEASON?
We are competing in four competitions this year and our aim is silverware – our boys are hungry to win and play some exciting football.
WHICH TEAM ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING?
We are really looking forward to igniting some old flames – Hinton FC will be a great local derby!
WHERE DO YOU SEE RANGERS IN FIVE YEARS TIME?
I see us back where we belong – hopefully competing in and around the SSML and winning silverware.
IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING IN FOOTBALL WHAT WOULD IT BE?
A bigger trust of youth in football – I’d like to see managers trusting their younger players and not limiting their creativity. We need more players that show no fear and who are comfortable on the ball with both feet.
AND JUST FOR FUN WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SEASON?
I’d love to say Spurs but I cant see past Man City!
The above shows the Bush Hill Rangers pre-season schedule beginning with a home game against Hatfield Town on Wednesday 25th July. You can follow the club on twitter @BushHillRangers. The Cold End wishes the best of luck to Soner and his team for the forthcoming season.
