EPPING FC APPOINT BILLY COVE AS MANAGER

Essex Olympian League Division Four side Epping Football Club have announced the appointment of Billy Cove as manager. He was joint manager of Essex Senior League side Ilford last season and is fondly remembered by many supporters during his playing career at clubs such as Leyton Pennant, Enfield Town (where he was a real fan's favourite) and Maidenhead United.

Epping play at Stonards Hill which is the former home of Epping Town who were members of the Isthmian League from 1977 up until their demise due to financial difficulties in 1985.

The current Epping FC were formed in 1976 as Coopersdale changing their name to Eppingsale in 1992 and then Epping FC in 1999. They have been members of the EOFL since formation with their highest ever finish being fifth place in the 09/10 Premier Division.

The Cold End wishes Billy and everyone at the club all the best for the forthcoming season. It would be good to put football back on the map of the Essex town where the former club once reached the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup in 1973 narrowly losing to Chelmsford City (1-2) at home.
