THE NEW BADGE OF WALTHAMSTOW FOOTBALL CLUB
The Essex Senior League for the 2018/19 campaign will have a new look to as four new teams join the division as part of the reorganisation of the non-league pyramid. Last season's Champions (Great Wakering Rovers) and runners up (Basildon United) have moved up to step four with Hoddesdon Town and St Margaretsbury joining from the Spartan South Midlands League along with Stanway Rovers and Saffron Walden Town from the Eastern Counties League. Waltham Forest have changed their name to Walthamstow FC which I think it is a real positive move for the game in East London.
Some fantastic news for Woodford Town was recently announced in that the club will be returning to their home borough and playing games at Ashton Playing Fields which is very close to the club's spiritual home of Snakes Lane.

The non-league reorganisation for the 2018/19 season has created what has been needed in the Essex and East London area for a number of years in a new Step 6 division. Many teams have been moved up a number of steps from the Essex Olympian League and Middlesex County League. It's really great news to see Eton Manor returning to senior football after the historic club took a year out from the Essex Senior League last season and another club with lots of history in Harwich and Parkeston stepping up to senior football once again. They will be taking on (subject to ground applying with requirements) teams such as Fire United and Lopes Tavares. At present I'm unsure where some of these teams will be playing - what I do know is that many non-league fans and ground hoppers will be showing huge interest in the new league.
