WARREN KAYEMBE SCORES THE PICK OF THE GOALS AS WARE u23s WIN VERSUS HARINGEY BOROUGH u23s

It was Bluefin Sport Isthmian League Development North Division action at Wodson Park on Wednesday evening as Ware welcomed Haringey Borough. The visitors had lost their league opening game to Cheshunt 1-5 at Coles Park with the hosts drawing 1-1 at home to Wingate and Finchley in which they scored the equaliser on 90 minutes.

Just a handful of spectators witnessed the game (official crowd was recorded as 11) which was very entertaining as both teams played the game the right way. Ware deserved the win - they were 1-0 at half time via Ahmed Abdulla on 38 minutes only for Haringey Borough to equalise early in the second half on 52 minutes via Jordan Edwards. Ware were much the better side form there on in - I never like to be too critical of under 23 sides and young players but i think some of the Haringey team tried to do too much with the ball at times especially in the final third of the pitch. I think if they played a nice early ball into the box at certain times it could of proved more fruitful for them and may do in future games.

By the time Ware went 2-1 up via a lovely goal from Warren Kayembe on 65 minutes they had already missed a penalty kick which they hit the post with. Kayembe's brilliant volley from the edge of the box nestled nicely in the back of the net to his delight. It was 3-1 late on when Ahmed Mohammed scored from close range on 85 minutes. It could of been more for the home side if it wasn't for some great saves made by Haringey's ex Cockfoster's keeper Austin Byfield.

Haringey Borough u23's next fixture comes on Monday at home to Brentwood Town. Ware travel to Witham Town on Wednesday before a eagerly anticipated game for everyone connected with the their u23 team on Wednesday 13th September when they go to Billeircay Town u23's and will experience the much publicised new ground, unique changing rooms and tunnel area.

The below videos show all four goals scored. I should have more highlights of games in the future as I am just getting used to using a new camera - Normal highlights will resume soon.
