Southminster St Leonards currently lead the way in the Essex Olympian League Premier Division. They won their opening seven league games and suffered their first defeat last Saturday when they lost 3-0 away to Kelvedon Hatch. Soutminster were Division One Champions in 2011/12 and finished in third place in the Premier Division last season. They are closely followed by Buckhurst Hill who have television presenter Geoff Brazier and The Only Way is Essex star Mark Wright within their ranks this season. Both are no strangers to the non-league game with Brazier being a youth-team player at Grays Athletic before playing for Leyton Orient, Billericay Town, Canvey Island and Boreham Wood amongst other teams. Wright was youth team player at Tottenham Hotspur and has played for a number of non-league teams including Crawley Town, Rushden and Diamonds and Heybridge Swifts. Former Arsenal youth left-back George Brislen-Hall has also started most games for Buckhurst.

The only unbeaten side left are last season's champion's Frenford Senior who could go within three points of Southminster if they win their game in hand over the table toppers.

Harold Hill prop up the division with a misarable record of eight defeats in eight games. They have also lost against Kelvedon Hatch in the Essex Premier Cup and against Division Two side Ongar Town in the Senior Division Cup.

Many of the clubs are involved in Senior Division and Essex Premier Cup action over the next few weeks so there is only a small league fixture list available at present.
