The Town Ultras sang 'We lose every week, we lose every week, you're nothing special we lose every week' towards the Finchley fans behind the goal in the second half of what has to be said was the worst performance from the Town in a long time. There seemed to be nothing on the pitch in terms of passion or commitment which was highly disappointing to see for the home fans in a local derby game. Some of the Town players looked pedestrian at times in stark contrast to Wingate who were sharp, were first to ball almost all of the time and full of confidence on the back of three straight Ryman League wins. A crowd of 295 people watched the game.
Here are the highlights of the game which for Enfield Town fans could be entitled 'A Nightmare on Donkey Lane' -
Town have now gone nine Ryman Premier Division games without a win and are languishing in the relegation zone. It doesn't get any easier as Town's next scheduled game comes on Saturday 23rd November 2013 when high flying Dulwich Hamlet visit Donkey Lane.
What can be taken from last night's game is that W&F, prior to this good run of form, were on a points total of nine from eleven games and now have twenty-one from fifteen games. They are now comfortably sitting in mid-table. If they can do it so can The Town!
Wingate & Finchley's fan site has a really well written article on their victory which is highly recommended well worth a read - Link Here
