The draw for the early rounds of the FA competitions has been made today and it has thrown Enfield Town two very difficult games in the Trophy and Cup. In the FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round we travel to Calor Gas League Premier Division side St Albans City and in the Trophy we face our Ryman Premier friends Lowestoft Town at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium.
The Saints have made some really impressive signings this summer (midfielder Howard Hall from Hendon, goal machine John Frendo from Hitchin Town have joined along with Lee Chappell and Chris O'Leary who were regulars in the Wealdstone line up last season) and are one of the favourites for their league title. Arguably they are one of the strongest step four sides for the 2013/14 season. It's a nice short trip for the Town so let's hope we can all give the lads the support they need to get past The Saints!
There are some really exciting games to look forward to with the local derby between Hoddesdon Town and St Margaretsbury standing out. Enfield 1893 FC start with a home game against Spartan Premier Division London Tigers. There is a new name in the competition as you can see Tower Hamlets FC (Bethnal Green United have changed their name) travel out to Suffolk to play Walsham-Le-Willows.
