STAND AND DELIVER - A UNIQUE COMEDY MUSICAL

The Cold End has received the following important press release from Wayne Gumble (a well known Enfield FC and Enfield Town FC fan) who used to produce a club fanzine called Naughty Sport during the 1980's. If you want to relive the magic of the 1980's then the below is right up your street. Looks like great value for money at only £6 a ticket.

Re-live the excitement of Enfield’s 1980/81 FA Cup run this summer in a new comedy musical!

"Stand and Deliver!" is a unique musical theatre production written and produced by Wayne Gumble, editor of the old Enfield/Enfield Town fanzine, Naughty Sport (remember that?).
Set against the backdrop of 80s chart music and football terrace songs, Stand and Deliver is the incredible and unlikely story of Frank, an ordinary man, who unearths an old fanzine in a box of memorabilia. He begins reminiscing about the days of his youth in the 1980s when he was a big fan of Enfield FC and finds inspiration to follow his lifelong dream to become a highwayman with hilarious consequences.
You’ll be reminded of such classics as Camberwick Green, the Benny Hill Show, Hi De Hi and The Wizard of Oz in a frenzied variation of humour styles that swing wildly from modern day observational comedy to Pythonesque sketches and innuendo-filled scenes that will take you back to the days of Carry On films! You’ll hear the music of the great artists of the ‘80s including Tears For Fears, The Jam, Queen, Adam and the Ants, Rick Astley and David Bowie. Re-live the goals by Steve King and Ronnie Howell and the matches against Port Vale and Barnsley.
The show will be performed on July 7th(2pm and 7:30pm) and July 8th (4pm) at Oasis Academy in Enfield Lock.
Tickets priced at £6 (adults) and £5 (concessions) are available from standanddelivermusical.com
