* Saturday 5th November - Springfield v Kodak (Harrow) - home win awarded
The race for the Championship in the Middlesex County League Premier Division is currently looking like a one horse race with 2009/10 title winner's Interwood thirteen points clear of second placed Willesden Constantine (title winners in 2010/11) with a game in hand.
Up until last Saturday 10th December Interwood had a highly impressive 100% winning record in their 19 league and cup games previous. Their 20th game of the season saw them lose on penalty kicks at FC Deportivo Galicia in the Alex Smith Premier Division Cup Second Round after a 2-2 draw AET.
Interwood amassed 112 goals in their 28 league games (an average of 4 goals per game) when title winners in 2010. They are well on their way to maybe beating this average as they are presently on exactly the same average of 4 goals per game in their 15 games so far. Only a big slip up would prevent them from becoming champions in 2012.
A weird statistic for the league is that currently the team with the best defensive away record is second from bottom Kodak (Harrow) who have only conceded 8 goals in their 5 away games. All the top teams have let in more but they have played at least two or three extra games. It's all the more stranger as at home Kodak have let in 24 goals in 8 games.
Tenth placed Hillingdon (not to be confused with Spartan South Midlands League Hillingdon Borough) are the only side without a home win whilst bottom of the table Springfield are the only side without a win on their travels.
