FA CUP 2ND QUALIFYING ROUND DRAW

The draw for the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round was made yesterday and pitted Enfield Town with a home tie against either Ashford Town (Middlesex) of the Zamaretto Central Divsion or Worthing of the Ryman South Division. The two sides replay on the South Coast tonight after a 1-1 draw at Short Lane on Saturday. The draw could of been worse for Town with teams from the Blue Square South in the mix including Bromley, Braintree Town, Dover Athletic, Chelmsford City and Woking.

Steve and the team will know not to take any game lightly with whoever Town end up facing being tough opponents to negotiate. Town have already won £4,500 in prize money (£1,500 for winning the preliminary round and £3,000 for winning the 1st QR on Saturday) and can double this amount with a possible £4,500 on offer should the game scheduled for the 25th September be won.

The Essex Senior League representation in this season's competition ended last night when Bethnal Green United were beaten 0-4 by Harlow Town in their replay. The Hawks now have a great day out to look forward to at Lewes in the next round.

There is one last SSMFL side left in the draw being Division One Crawley Green who held Romford to a draw at the weekend. They replay in Bedfordshire on Wednesday night for the right to host Blue Square South Hampton & Richmond Borough in the next round.

Here is the draw that includes the remaining Ryman North sides and possibly Crawley Green -

Bury Town V Grays Athletic
Lewes V Harlow Town
AFC Hornchurch V Brentwood Town
East Thurrock United V Carshalton Athletic
Hendon V Maldon & Tiptree
Enfield Town V Ashford Town (Middx) or Worthing
Needham Market V Chipstead
